Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you into Mombasa’s city center.  The hustling and bustling life found in this historically important, Arabic and European-rooted seaport is sure to fascinate!  First site on the list to visit is Akamba Schnitzerdorf.  Here you can watch the wood carvers performing their intricate work and of course, shop for both small and large pieces of art.  Afterwards, we will visit a Hindu Temple, a massive figure from the Indian business people who worked and lived in Mombasa.  Being that the majority of Mombasa’s inhabitants belong to the Islamic religion, we will also visit a local Mosque.  Following is a visit to this city’s famous landmark, the Elephant teeth.  From here is it only a short distance by foot to the Old City with its ancient port and historical Fort Jesus, which the Portuguese built in 1593.  To wrap up the tour, one can enjoy a beautiful view of East Africa’s largest port and see the flurry of Ferries heading to southern Mombasa.  On the journey back to the hotel is the possibility to also visit the Crocodile Farm, “Mamba Village”.

1 Day Malindi Tour

After breakfast, a driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you  1.5 hours (approx. 100 km) to city of Malindi!  Malindi is one of the largest tourist cities in Kenya and boasts a history of over 800 years!  It was the main trading city hosting trade with Asia (i.e. China) and Orient through 1593, at which time the Portuguese moved their major trading activities to Mombasa.  Today, people of this Islamic-coined coastal town live naturally on fishing, cotton and sisal production and tourism.  Upon entering Malinda Bay, one is greeted by Vasco de Gama column, which is a reminder to all of the arrival here of this famous sailor and adventurer from 1498.  There is also a beautiful view of Indian Ocean to be enjoyed from here.  Furthermore, you will visit  historical town center of Malindi with its market and can enjoy a coffee in one of  many roadside cafes there before journeying back to Mombasa.
