Elephant Calves at the David Sheldrick Orphanage in Nairobi

7 Days Classic Safari from Nairobi ending in Mombasa

Day 1:  Arrive in Nairobi

Arrive in the morning in Nairobi. You will be fetched here by our minibuses and taken to the hotel for a brief refresher. Next, begin your city tour with a visit to the Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen museums.  The evening is free for you to enjoy as you please.  As an insider tip, we can recommend the restaurant, Carnivore.  Overnight accommodation is in the Sentrim Nairobi Boulevard Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi Elephant Orphanage to Amboseli National Park

In the morning, around 11 o’clock, visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.  Thereafter, drive to Amboseli National Park, located along the northern foot of Kilimanjaro.  Overnight stay will be in Sentrim Lodge, located near the park entrance.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Early entry into Amboseli National Park, a fabulous animal park at the foot of Kilimanjaro.   Here you will find the animals roaming in the short grass plains and in the marshes, right before your camera.  At 18:00, depart from the park and travel to Sentrim Lodge.

Day 4: Amboseli - Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, travel to Tsavo West National Park.  Here, the journey will pass by Kilimanjaro’s enormous volcanic lava field.  Your safari will begin here alongside the springs of the Tsavo River, a life line for many hippopotamus and crocodiles.  Afterwards, enjoy another hunting trip to the famous Mzima Springs, a beautiful oasis embedded by palms and acacias.  These crystal-clear water springs supply the city of Mombasa with water and are a paradise for many fish, crocodile and hippopotamus.  Overnight stay is in Severin Safari Camp. Within this camp awaits luxury and comfort.  All tents are equipped with flowing cold and warm water, shower, comfortable beds and own terrace.  In the evening you will be spoiled with an á la Carte dinner in the restaurant.  The game specialties offered are from the African bush and prepared on hot stones or as a Fondue.  End the day with the perfect Safari-romance by sitting before an evening campfire in front of the beautifully lit water hole and blanketed under the starlit, African sky.

Day 5: Tsavo West National Park

Before breakfast partake in an on-foot safari around camp with a Masai.   While roaming across this wild landscape, you’ll learn insights from the natives regarding the wildlife; how to read their tracks, how to live in the bush and the art of natural fire making.  After breakfast, enjoy a morning safari with a trip to the Rhino Sanctury, a wildlife protection area for the black rhinoceros.  Lunch will be served in Severin Lodge.  Next, you can relax and enjoy a fantastic backdrop of wilderness from the pool, or enjoy a relaxing massage in the KENBALI Spa.  Inspired by both the African wilderness and century old Southeast Asian relaxation techniques, the Spa is an oasis of peace and relaxation.  In late afternoon awaits a special experience for you…a trip to Poacher' s Lookout.  This is an old hiding place for poachers from which you will have a breath-taking view of Kilimanjaro standing 5,892 meter high.  With some luck you can enjoy a cloudless sunset with a sparkling wine and canapés.  During our journey back to the lodge, you will experience the African Savannah at night, an unforgettable experience!  After this exciting day in the wilderness, a culinary dinner will await you at the camp.

Day 6: Tsavo West - Tsavo East National Park

Travel to Tsavo East National Park and begin a safari at Manyani Gate.  Tsavo East National Park offers an extensive animal world as well as its famous „Red Earth”, which has the impact of making all the animals look red.  Here, one can catch sight of elephants, lions, cheetahs and a multitude of antelope.  Overnight stay will be in the very beautiful Voi Safari Lodge, which boasts a fantastic location on the mountainside.

Day 7: Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa
